SUMMARY The local domestic geese breed of Kashmir Valley has now been registered as a recognized breed named ‘Kashmir Anz’, making it the first and the only recognized domestic geese breed in India as of now. Kashmir Anz geese are cinnamon, white, and a mixture of cinnamon and white coloured geese, with beak colour varying from black to yellow through all intermediates. Vent sexing or vocalisation is the most accurate and practical method of gender identification, respectively. The average adult body weight of the gander is 3.82 kg and that of the goose is 3.34 kg.
