Abstract

A finite-element technique for determining the mechanical state of the heavily loaded elements of a six-punch high-pressure apparatus (HPA) was developed. The compression of the pyrophyllite cell of a six-punch HPA was studied. The stress-strain and limit states of the cell and punches in the process of high pressure generation were determined, and the effect produced by the size of a cubic cell edge on the limit state of punches and the level of pressure generated in HPA was established. In particular, the enlargement of an edge decreased the pressure in its center.
