We enjoyed reviewing “Experience with the Pipeline embolization device for posterior circulation aneurysms: a multicenter cohort study.”¹ The authors provide a retrospective review of the largest case series to date examining the safety and efficacy of the use of the Pipeline embolization device (PED; Medtronic) in posterior circulation aneurysms. One of the key findings of this study was that no patients who presented with incidentally discovered aneurysms experienced symptomatic complications following treatment with PED. The authors also provide an insightful discussion regarding the use of platelet function testing prior to treatment with PED, and we agree that this should be investigated further in future studies. We thank them for conducting a thorough review of their cases and contributing this information to the literature.
