1‐Benzyl‐1,4‐dihydronicotinamide (BNAH) is a nicotinamide biomimetic reductant effective for generating reduced flavin in the chemo‐enzymatic reaction of bacterial luciferase. This cascade reaction can generate bioluminescence by using common compounds such as long‐chain aldehyde, FMNH‐, and molecular oxygen. The technology developed will be useful for future applications of bacterial luciferase in high‐throughput screening. More information can be found in the full paper by P. Chaiyen et al.
