Abstract

The effect of heat treatment on the structure, phase composition and mechanical properties of nanostructured aluminum-matrix composite materials modified with C60 fullerenes is studied in this work. The strength, hardness and elastic modulus of the composites are measured using the methods of indentation and uniaxial compression at temperatures from 25 to 350°C. A zone of thermal stability of the structure and phase composition is found and a feasible temperature range of operation is predicted for the related materials.
