We correct the proof of Proposition 2.1 in the paper [S. Hittmeir and A. Jüngel, SIAM J. Math. Anal., 43 (2011), pp. 997--1022]. This proposition is used to prove the existence of global weak solutions to a Keller--Segel model with additional cross diffusion.
