Structural Transformations in Liquid Water

Abstract —New experimental evidence is reported for the formation of supramolecular complexes of water (termed emulons), which range from 1 to 100 μm in linear dimensions, include five fractions, and have a relaxation time greater than 1 s. Optic sensors, acoustic emission, and thermal analysis were used to obtain the data. Emulon decomposition at a higher temperature generates solitons in an aqueous milieu. The observation of emulons as new structures considerably contributes to the understanding of the structure and properties of the liquid phase of water.
