Abstract—
A “non-contact” method for measuring the emittance of a corpuscular flow extracted from the Penning ion source of a small linear charged-particle accelerator has been developed and tested. The emittance is calculated by minimizing the difference between the theoretically calculated and experimentally measured beam sizes in the ion-optical system of the accelerator. The dimensions are measured during photographic recording of a luminous trace of a corpuscular flow in the ion-optical system. The results of applying the non-contact method for measuring the emittance of a particle beam flow are presented.中文翻译:
