Abstract In this study, using the response surface methodology (RSM) method, 1-butanol and diesel fuel blends heat capacity is predicted. The study of heat capacity was performed with three factors of molar fraction, viscosity, and temperature. In this study, the prediction of 1-butanol and diesel fuel blends heat capacity by central composite design (CCD) method is considered, which in addition to reducing the time and cost, can provide suitable models. A simple two-factor interaction (2FI) model, which is a function of viscosity (μ), temperature (T), and molar fraction (X1-b), is presented and the adequacy of the model is investigated using R2, R2adjusted, R2predicted values, Box–Cox, and Normal Plot.
