Phosphine‐Catalyzed δ‐Addition Reaction of γ‐Substituted Allenoates with Isatin Derivatives

A novel phosphine‐catalyzed δ‐addition reaction between allenoates and isatin derivatives has been developed. In this reaction, γ‐substituted allenoates were used as a novel C1 synthon to produce oxindole derivatives in good yields and highly diastereoselectivities. Based on the previous mechanistic studies, a proposed phosphine‐catalyzed δ‐addition reaction has been outlined.
