A nanosheet Ru/WO3 catalyst for efficient conversion of glucose to butanediol

A nanosheet Ru/WO3 catalysts were synthesized by the hydrothermal synthesis method and applied in glucose hydrogenolysis reaction. The special structure of the Ru/WO3 NS (0.3) catalyst forms suitable reducibility of Ru and W species resulting in good balance of hydrogenation active sites and acid sites. As a result, the Ru/WO3 NS (0.3) catalyst achieves the 100% glucose conversion and as high as 73.9% selectivity of butanediol (BG).
