Molybdenum dichalcogenides are interesting 2D‐layered materials that have the capacity to intercalate molecules, atoms, and ions. The ability of different types of these dichalcogenides to act as hosts for tetrachloroaluminate, the charge carrier in aluminium‐ion batteries, is studied. The cover picture shows an artistic interpretation of tetrachloroaluminates intercalating and deintercalating during charging and discharging of the battery.
