Specific Features of Time Variations in Aerosol Optical Depth in the Middle Urals Using Multiyear Observations in Urban and Background Regions

Abstract

The generalizing statistical characteristics of multiyear two-point measurements of atmospheric aerosol parameters carried out in the Middle Urals are presented. The characteristics of the aerosol optical depth (AOD) and specific features of time variations in aerosol turbidity of the atmosphere in Yekaterinburg and the suburban background region are compared. The differences are determined in the mean values, interannual, annual, and daily variations in AOD and in its fine and coarse components obtained using sun photometer measurements in two regions.
