Abstract

The effect of refractory alloying elements, such as niobium and titanium, on the impurity contents and the properties of a high-strength Mg–Zn–Zr magnesium alloy is considered using the results of experimental studies. Alloys of three experimental compositions are melted and the fracture surfaces of the alloys are studied. The impurity contents of in the alloys are determined and their mechanical properties are analyzed.
