Transcortical perivascular cell (TPC) population expands and contributes to new bone formation in a cortical bone transplantation model. New bone formation within transplanted tamoxifen‐treated cortical bone shaft at day 21 post transplantation. Marrow space and endosteal surface were devoid of cells prior to transplantation. Fluorescence indicates iDMP/T (tomato), ColGFP (green), EdU (white), and DAPI stained nuclei (blue). Yellow cells indicate osteoblasts that formed from the TPC population.
