We read with interest the article by Chen et al. reporting proportion of time covered by imaging modality was associated with increased early detection of hepatocellular carcinoma (HCC). 1 However, in this study, alpha‐fetoprotein (AFP) was not assessed as a surveillance tool because of low rate of AFP measurements. In the era of direct‐acting antivirals (DAA) almost all patients could achieve sustained viral response (SVR).
