We model emissions from the Carroll-Yoshino ( v ′ = 0, v ″ = 0) band of molecular nitrogen N 2, i.e. ##IMG## [http://ej.iop.org/images/0953-4075/53/12/125701/jpbab76e6ieqn1.gif] {${{c}_{4}^{{\prime} }}^{1}{{\rm{\Sigma }}}_{u}^{+}(v^{\prime} =0)-X{}^{1}{{\rm{\Sigma }}}_{g}^{+}(v^{\prime\prime} =0),$} due to nonthermal gas discharges in low pressure air and N 2 .
