Abstract We present the basics of the local theory, which arises from global Rankin-Selberg integrals, attached to pairs of irreducible globally generic cuspidal automorphic representations of the quasi-split unitary group U 2 n + 1 and Res E / F GL m , for a quadratic extension of number fields E / F , when m > n .
