Nonlinear behavior of a surface charge on the curved plasma boundary with a moving cavity

Abstract The effective method based on the theory of potential is developed to describe properties of electrostatic nonlinear phenomena on plasma boundaries with varying distortions of a sharp transition between ionized gas and a confining medium. The nonlinear behavior of the electrostatic field connected with a surface charge caused by a cavity moving along the plasma boundary is here investigated under simplest ideal conditions. A new unique equation is deduced from the well-known hydrodynamic description that corresponds cold electron plasma motions. Investigated properties of the surface charge caused by the cavity can be used as for getting current information about the state of the plasma surface as for active influence on it by means, for example, electromagnetic beams.
