Water‐soluble organic nanoparticles (WSONs) were prepared by a very simple co‐precipitation method through nanoprecipitation (solvent‐exchange) from THF to water. WSONs are 87–112 nm in size with good water solubility and high water stability for more than a month. WSONs accumulated in mitochondria and induced mitochondria‐mediated apoptosis through photodynamic activity against HeLa cells.
