Light monitor: Electrospray ionization MS has great potential as a research tool for investigating photoreactions. This Minireview shows examples of the on‐line monitoring of photo‐intermediates and detailed studies of photo‐transformations in the gas phase. Examples cover photocatalytic reactions with metal‐ and organophotocatalysts, photoswitching, photofragmentation, and applications to studying biomolecules.
