Microstructure and properties of multipass and wire welded joints on Super304H steel

Abstract The paper analysed the microstructure and properties of various regions on the welded joints to evaluate the performance of the welding wire. The composition of the welding line was similar to deposited metal, and the second phases were the austenites. The actual migration distance of solidification grain boundary ranged from 5 to 15 μm. Nb-phases with a columnar distribution were observed, and the Nb-phases had the pinning effect in the HAZ. The liquefaction at the grain boundaries close to the fusion line occurred.
