Leaded lights: T30695 DNA can catalyze Pb2+ insertion into protoporphyrin IX with another Pb2+ ion as a cofactor. This inserted Pb2+ causes blue‐shifted emission from 635 to 590 nm, allowing simple ratiometric fluorescent sensing of Pb2+ with excellent sensitivity and selectivity.
