Application of a low-cost silver/PET catalyst for hydrogen peroxide reduction reaction

Abstract This work focuses on chemical preparation of structured silver film onto polyethylene terephthalate (PET) substrate and improvement in electroreduction activity of the as-prepared Ag/PET electrode material as cathode catalyst for hydrogen peroxide (H2O2) reduction reaction (HPRR). The deposited silver film is homogeneous and has an open microporous structure, resulting in a high activity of the Ag/PET electrode for the HPRR. We show that the Ag/PET electrode can efficiently catalyze the HPRR with an onset potential of 0.1 V (vs.SCE).
