This paper deals with the following Kirchhoff type problem (0.1)$-\left(a+b{\int }_{{\mathbb{R}}^N}{|\nabla u|}^2\right)\Delta u=\lambda K\left(x\right)u^{q-1}+u^{2^{\ast }-1},u>0,x\in {\mathbb{R}}^N,$where $N\ge 3$, $K\in L^1\left({\mathbb{R}}^N\right)\cap L^{\infty }\left({\mathbb{R}}^N\right)$, constants $a,b>0$, the parameter $\lambda >0$ and $2\le q<2^{\ast }≔2N∕(N-2)$. Using the finite-dimensional reduction approach, we prove that problem (0.1) admits at least a positive solution.
