The regioselective mono‐ and di‐, homo‐ and hetero‐halogenation of the benzothioxanthene (BTXI), an overlooked sulfur containing rylene, is reported. All structures are solved by X‐ray diffraction. These newly functionalized BTXI cores open unprecedented doors to the design of new symmetrical and asymmetrical π‐conjugated systems.
