Although mortality from traumatic brain injury (TBI) has decreased, a high proportion of TBI survivors still have long-term physical, cognitive, and psychological morbidity. There is a pressing need for further data on the long-term efficacy of acute clinical interventions in severe TBI to guide shared decision making between clinicians, patients, and their families.
