(1-x)(K0.44Na0.52Li0.04)(Nb0.91Ta0.05Sb0.04)O3-xSmAlO3 (abbreviated as KNLNTS-xSA) (x = 0.000, 0.001, 0.004 and 0.008) lead-free ceramics were prepared by conventional solid-state sintering method and the effects of SA on the phase structure and electrical properties of the ceramics were systematically studied. The XRD analysis results show that all compositions had a pure perovskite structure at the optimum sintering temperature. Enhanced electrical properties were obtained with x = 0.004: d33 = 144 pC/N, εr = 970, TC = 323 °C, TO-T = 71 °C, Pr = 16 μC/cm2, and EC = 14.9 kV/cm at the sintering temperature of 1180 °C, providing a better method to obtain high-performance potassium-sodium-niobate materials.
