The design principles of the solid electrolyte interphase (SEI) on the lithium metal anode make much sense for practical lithium batteries. In their Research Article (DOI: 10.1002/anie.201911724), Q. Zhang and co‐authors propose a sustainable SEI and tested it in a pouch cell. The sustainable SEI was achieved by combining the intrinsically uniform SEI and the constant supplement of SEI building blocks.
