Iron hexcyanoferrate (FeHCF) nanocubes were prepared as a high-voltage and low-strain cathode material for room-temperature aqueous Li/Na mixed ion battery, which can effectively accommodate volume change during the reversible insertion/extraction of alkali ions. Benefiting from the stable structure of FeHCF, FeHCF/TiP2O7 mixed ion battery shows impressive performance. It can deliver a high voltage output of 1 V and an energy density of 88 Wh kg–1, and has a capacity retention of 95.6% after 400 cycles with a nearly 100% Coulombic efficiency as well.
