About Dr. Amanda Jarvis’s Group
Our research combines biological architecture with transition-metal catalysis to develop selective and sustainable solutions for challenging chemical reactions, such as direct C-H functionalisation and enantioselective photocatalysis. We explore artificial metalloenzymes to enhance catalytic efficiency and drive advances in green chemistry. Our projects span enzyme engineering, inorganic/organometallic chemistry, and chemical synthesis, aiming to address global challenges like sustainability and resource efficiency.
Eligibility Requirements
We are looking for candidates who:
Have or are expecting to receive a first-class honours degree or a Master’s degree in a relevant area, such as Chemistry, Chemical Biology, Drug Discovery, Biochemistry, or Structural Biology.
Possess knowledge in protein purification, biochemistry, organic synthesis, or molecular and cell biology techniques (highly advantageous but not required).
Meet the IELTS requirements for the course:
o IELTS Academic: Total 6.5, with at least 6.0 in each component.
o Evidence of meeting English requirements must be provided by 28th Feb 2025. Ensure your IELTS test remains valid upon enrolment. Candidates are strongly advised to take an approved English test as early as possible.
Why Join Us?
Engage in cutting-edge research on artificial metalloenzymes and sustainable catalysis.
Join a multidisciplinary, supportive environment with access to state-of-the-art facilities.
Contribute to impactful research addressing global challenges in green chemistry and resource efficiency.
