On May 19, 2025, at the Sunroom on the second floor of the new Physics Building, our group members Shen Chen and Zhou Kunjie successfully completed their master's thesis defenses.

  Shen Chen's thesis, titled “Optical Properties of Microstructures in Perovskite Thin Films”, focused on the complex variations in fluorescence intensity and lifetime near grain boundaries. He proposed and validated a systematic classification method for identifying different types of perovskite grain boundaries.

  Zhou Kunjie’s thesis, titled “Metal-Enhanced Photoluminescence of Perovskite Quantum Dots in Mixed-Dimensional Heterostructures”, involved the synthesis of CsPbBr₃ quantum dot colloidal solutions and the fabrication of mixed-dimensional heterostructures. His work successfully demonstrated the modulation of spontaneous emission rate and fluorescence intensity of CsPbBr₃ quantum dots.

  During the defense, both Shen Chen and Zhou Kunjie presented their research in an organized and professional manner, and clearly answered the questions raised by the committee. Their work received high praise and unanimous approval from the committee, who agreed that they had successfully passed their thesis defenses.

  The successful graduation of both students is not only a result of their rigorous research attitude and solid academic work, but also the guidance and support from their supervisor. In the near future, Shen Chen will join Changsha Lubang Optoelectronics Co., Ltd., while Zhou Kunjie will work at a semiconductor company in Shanghai. We wish them continued passion and perseverance in their careers ahead, and a bright and promising future!
