Huijie Pan Associate Professor

Huijie obtained his B.E. in Polymer Science and Engineering from Zhejiang University in 2012, and Ph.D. in Organic Chemistry from  National University of Singapore in 2016 under the supervision of Prof. Yu Zhao. During his Ph.D., he mainly worked on chiral amine compounds synthesis via Borrowing Hydrogenation and Transfer Hydrogenation methodologies.  After a period of Research Assistant in the Zhao Group, Huijie joined the group of Prof. Xile Hu at EPFL Switzerland in May 2017, working on the biomimetic chemistry of [Fe]-hydrogenase and the development of artificial [Mn]-hydrogenase. In 2018, he was awarded Marie Skłodowska-Curie Individual Fellowships. From May 2021, Huijie started his independent career at Nanjing University as a member of the Department of Chemistry and Chemical Engineering, Chemistry and Biomedicine Innovation Center (ChemBic), and State Key Laboratory of Coordination Chemistry. His current research interests are Synthetic Biology, Biosynthesis, Artificial Enzymes, Biomimetic Chemistry, and Asymmetric Catalysis.
