Xu Yang joined Professor Maolin Li's research team at the College of Chemistry and the Frontiers Science Center for New Organic Matter Creation, Nankai University as a Research Assistant in July 2025. He held an Master of Science in Chemical Biology from the Shanghai Institute of Organic Chemistry, Chinese Academy of Sciences (supervised by Prof. Gong-Li Tang), where he investigated natural product biosynthesis, and a Bachelor of Science in Biological Sciences from Shandong University. His current research focuses on developing novel enzymatic reactions and integrating these innovations into natural product biosynthesis pathways to enable efficient synthesis of bioactive molecules.
