The first year master's student of the group, Yang Fan, under the supervision of Mr Lu Hailin, published a paper as the first author in the journal of Chinese Academy of Sciences (CAS) Region II. In this study, a method was proposed to prepare microarc oxidation (MAO) coatings on the surface of aluminium-cobalt-chromium-iron-nickel high-entropy alloys (HEAs) with low valve metal content. By adjusting the sintering temperature of the HEAs, the high-entropy alloy microarc oxidation (HEAs-MAO) coatings with excellent properties were successfully prepared. The results showed that the coatings were mainly composed of Al2O3 with a small amount of Co, Fe and Ni oxides on the surface, among which Co3O4 was the main reason for the blue spots on the coating surface. Compared with the HEA7 sample, the HEA7-M sample has a thicker coating, lower coefficient of friction, higher hardness, excellent abrasion resistance, and significantly higher corrosion resistance.Fan Yang a, Chao Du b, Siyuan Tao a, Yueqiang Chang a, Zhihao Nie a, Zhe Wang c,*, Hailin Lu a, *. *Study on the effect and growth mechanism of micro-arc oxidation coating on AlCoCrFeNi high entropy alloy [J].
