On the afternoon of September 17, 2025, Professor Li Bo delivered an academic lecture titled "Using Live-Cell Imaging to Address Challenges in Cancer Initiation and Progression" at the School of Biotechnology, Jiangnan University. Professor Li systematically presented his research group's work on early tumorigenesis, the homing of circulating tumor cells, and the collective evolution of epithelial-like cells into tumor-like populations, in realistic biomimetic environments. He proposed an interdisciplinary research paradigm that integrates live-cell imaging to record biological processes, biomimetic environment construction to approximate in vivo microenvironments, and classical cellular and molecular biology techniques to address the challenges of concealment, heterogeneity, environmental complexity, and genetic instability in cancer development. In conclusion, Professor Li outlined future prospects, suggesting that biofabrication and semiconductor processes could be leveraged to create more biomimetic environments for studying related biological processes. Additionally, he proposed extending this research paradigm to neuroscience to investigate the establishment of neural networks and their relationship with intelligence generation. Following the lecture, Professor Li engaged in in-depth discussions with faculty members from Jiangnan University on related research directions. He also toured the experimental facilities and research platforms at the School of Biotechnology, offering high praise for the school's research achievements and disciplinary development.


2025.09.17下午,李博教授在江南大学生物工程学院发表了题为《利用活细胞成像解析癌症发生发展过程中的难题》的学术报告。李博教授系统介绍了我们课题组关于逼真仿生环境下早期肿瘤发生、循环肿瘤细胞归巢和上皮样细胞向肿瘤样群体性进化的研究成果,提出了活细胞成像记录生命过程、仿生环境构建逼近体内真实微环境、结合经典细胞分子生物学手段的交叉学科研究范式,以应对癌症发生过程中隐蔽性、异质性、环境复杂性以及基因不稳定性的难点。最后李教授提出展望,一方面可以利用生物制造以及半导体工艺,构建更多仿生环境用以研究相应生命过程;另一方面可以将这套研究范式推广到神经科学研究,解析神经网络的建立过程及其和智力生成的关系。报告后,李教授和江南大学教授就相关方向研究进行了深入交流,并学习参观了生物工程学院的实验设施和研究平台,对生物工程学院的研究成果和学科建设给出了高度评价。
