Sihua Hou Tenure-track Associate Professor, Ph.D. advisor, Principal Investigator (PI) Synthesis and functional study of bioactive natural products
Dr Sihua Hou received his B.S. (2010) and Ph.D. (2015) in Organic Chemistry from Lanzhou University . Following postdoctoral studies at Shanghai Jiao Tong University and The University of Chicago, he began his independent career at School of Pharmaceutical Sciences, Shanghai Jiao Tong University as a Tenure-track Associate Professor, Ph.D. Advisor and Principal Investigator(PI) in 2021. Currently, Our research is studying the synthesis and function of biologically active natural products. Our research will focus on the key scientific questions about the scarcity of natural products’ natural supplies and novel mechanisms of action of the natural products, to develop urgently needed pharmaceuticals based on natural products for the clinical treatments of severe diseases. Natural product synthesis, medicinal chemistry, and chemical biology research areas will be integrated.
