Moaz Asim was born in Gujranwala, Pakistan but grew up in Edmond, Oklahoma, United States for most of his life. He is an undergraduate student majoring in Biology at the University of Oklahoma (OU) with aspirations of attending medical school. On campus, Moaz is involved with the Muslim Student Association (MSA) and American Lung Cancer Screening Initiative (ALSCI) and serves as the outreach chair for the latter. Outside campus, he enjoys volunteering at the SHIFA and Lighthouse medical clinics. Moaz has prior research experience in cancer research through OU’s First Year Research Experience (FYRE) program. He is excited to start researching and gain invaluable research experience in the fields of Organic and Biochemistry.
Fun Fact: Moaz enjoys watching mixed martial arts and has a cat named Emerald.
