Intelligent Targeted Drug Laboratory
Prof. Yang serves as Head of the Intelligent Targeted Drug Laboratory and Doctoral Supervisor. He holds multiple concurrent positions, including Member of the Shandong Provincial Committee of the Chinese People's Political Consultative Conference (CPPCC), Deputy Director of the Shandong Engineering Center for New Oral Formulations, Information Officer for the Qingdao Municipal CPPCC Committee, and Business Environment Observer for the Qingdao High-tech Zone.
Professor Yang has received significant recognition for his expertise, being selected as a Shandong Taishan Scholar Young Expert, a High-level Talent in Jiangsu Province's "Six Talent Peaks" initiative, a Science and Technology Expert for Shandong Province, Jiangsu Province, and Qingdao Municipality, a Qingdao High-tech Enterprise Certification and Evaluation Expert, and a Jianghai Talent (Category B).
He earned his Ph.D. from Nankai University and completed postdoctoral research at Purdue University, USA. Currently, his research integrates artificial intelligence, medicinal chemistry, pharmacology, and biomedicine. His primary focus is utilizing AI and pharmaceutical technologies to design and synthesize targeted drug molecules, combined with biomedical studies to investigate their molecular activity and mechanisms of action.
Professor Yang has led over 10 research projects, including sub-projects of the National Key R&D Program. His scholarly output includes more than 20 SCI-indexed publications in prestigious journals such as Angewandte Chemie International Edition and European Journal of Medicinal Chemistry. He has applied for 15 invention patents, with 5 granted and 2 commercialized.
He holds significant editorial roles, serving as Associate Editor-in-Chief of Healthcare and Rehabilitation and Pharmaceutical Research Bulletin, and as Editor-in-Chief of CNS Neuroscience & Therapeutics and Mini-Reviews in Organic Chemistry. He is also an Editorial Board Member for JCTH and a Young Editorial Board Member for Chinese Chemical Letters.
Additionally, Professor Yang is active in professional societies: a Standing Committee Member of the Chemopharmacology Committee (Chinese Pharmacological Society), a Youth Member of the Medical Science Research Management Branch (Chinese Medical Association), a Member of the Neural Regeneration and Repair Committee (Chinese Association of Research Hospitals), a Board Member of the Shandong Youth Medical Association (serving as Chairman of its Pharmacology Branch), and a Member of the Medicinal Chemistry Committee (Shandong Pharmaceutical Society).
He has delivered over 20 invited academic presentations, including two at international conferences, and has chaired two conferences.
