Xinfang Xu was born in Zhejiang Province, China, in 1981. He received his B.S. degree from East China Normal University in 2005, and his PhD degree from the same university in 2010. After working as a postdoctoral fellow in the groups of Prof. M. P. Doyle at University of Maryland at college park in USA, he joined the faculty of Soochow University in 2014 as a full professor. Then, he moved to Sun Yat-sen University in 2020. And in 2024, He joined Zhejiang Sci-Tech University as a Professor in Chemistry. His research interests focus on the carbene chemistry, catalytic alkyne functionalization, and asymmetric catalysis.
