The 5th National College Students' High Voltage and Plasma Technology Innovation Competition Concludes Successfully, with Outstanding Achievements from Our Research Group's Students!!!

On August 10, 2025, the three-day 5th National College Students' High Voltage and Plasma Technology Innovation Competition (National Competition) 暨 High Voltage and Plasma Discipline Interdisciplinary Forum successfully concluded at Hefei University of Technology (Tunxi Road Campus). In this event, 5 teams from our research group performed brilliantly, winning 1 national first prize, 1 national second prize, 2 national third prizes, and 1 East China Division second prize, delivering an impressive performance with their strength!
The excellent results achieved by the 5 teams from our research group not only vividly demonstrate the strong strength of the team but also are a vivid epitome of the vigorous development of the high-voltage and plasma technology field. During the preparation stage, under the careful guidance of the tutor team, the students of each team devoted themselves to project research and development. From in-depth theoretical research to repeated polishing of experimental designs, from rigorous data collection to continuous efforts in model optimization, a great deal of effort was poured into every link, striving for excellence. Faced with technical difficulties encountered in the research and development process, the students brainstormed and collaborated, summarized experience in repeated experiments, optimized plans in repeated adjustments, and finally overcame multiple technical obstacles.
Among them, the project "A Kind of Anti-Vibration Hammer Structure Friction Nanogenerator for Energy Harvesting in Transmission Lines" led by Wu Jin, a master's student in the research group, won the national first prize with its innovative ideas and practical value. The team innovatively proposed a new dual-module friction nanogenerator (SD-TENG) based on the anti-vibration hammer structure. This device cleverly realizes the integrated collection of vibration energy and wind energy and converts it into stable electric energy, providing continuous energy support for transmission line sensors, thereby realizing self-powered sensing of transmission line environmental parameters. This achievement has won unanimous recognition and high praise from the judges due to its broad application prospects.
The team led by Song Zilin also performed well. The three-dimensional PAN/MOF composite fiber new flexible triboelectric sensor they prepared was cleverly integrated into the cycling helmet, which can accurately detect the impact force and acceleration on the helmet in real-time, providing a new solution for cycling safety monitoring and early warning. It attracted the attention of many sports enthusiasts once it was displayed. In addition, the research results of students such as Wang Feixiang, Jing Yizhuo, and Chang Xiao have also been widely recognized by the judges for their solid theoretical foundation and innovation points.
At the competition site, the display sessions of each team were wonderful, fully demonstrating the infinite possibilities of the integration of high-voltage and plasma technology with multiple disciplines. Some projects deeply combined artificial intelligence technology with high-voltage equipment fault diagnosis, achieving dual improvements in detection efficiency and accuracy; others cross-border linked environmental science and used plasma technology to treat industrial wastewater, achieving significant purification effects. These innovative achievements not only demonstrate the students' solid professional skills but also highlight the key role of interdisciplinary integration in promoting scientific and technological progress.

The excellent results in this competition are of great significance to the research group. It is not only a full recognition of the students' day and night efforts but also accumulates valuable practical experience for the team. At the same time, this honor will further encourage more students to engage in the research of high-voltage and plasma technology, inject a steady stream of new vitality into the innovative development of this field, and help related technologies play a greater role in national important undertakings such as energy, electric power, and environmental protection.
