Introduction to Global Institute of Future Technology (GIFT) of Shanghai Jiao Tong University:
Global Institute of Future Technology (GIFT) of Shanghai Jiao Tong University is one of the first 12 institutes of future technology announced by the Ministry of Education, and is also the only institute of future technology in Shanghai at present. Focusing on the two popular directions of future energy and future health, it is committed to cultivating forward-looking, cross-cutting and innovative talents who are leaders in future technological innovation.
GIFT integrates internal and external resources, aims at the frontier science, focuses on the direction of sustainable energy and health science and technology, provides solutions to the major problems in the field, and cultivates talents who lead the development of the industry. College goal: By 2025, through the introduction and cultivation of talents, the integration of industry and education and innovation, exploring the rules of cultivating talents in interdisciplinary disciplines, forming the mode of cultivating talents for the needs of future development, and initially building a top future technology college in China; by 2030, forming a stable and high-level faculty, with increasingly significant results in cultivating talents and emerging cutting-edge scientific research achievements, and building a top and internationally renowned teaching and research highland; by 2030, forming a stable and high-level faculty, with increasingly remarkable results in cultivating talents and emerging cutting-edge scientific research achievements. By 2035, leading talents with global influence will continue to emerge, original achievements with great impact will continue to be produced, the school system will become more mature and produce spillover effects, and the school will be an engineering college leading the cultivation of talents in future technology and the development of industry innovation in the world.
