The ultimate goal of the group is to microfluidically build a living cell from scratches by using bottom-up approaches, which not only demonstrates and guides our understanding of life, but also will create a biological platform upon which the next generation of biotechnology can be built. It will create tangible improvements across various areas of biotechnology applications as diverse as human health, environment, energy and industry.
