收稿范围
As a scholarly journal, Interacting with Computers publishes original work from all areas of Human-Computer Interaction (HCI), pushing forward HCI theories, methods, and practices.

Research areas considered by the journal include (but are not limited to):

User experience and usability

Interaction design and user interface design

Ethical and societal implications of HCI

User research, prototyping, or evaluation methods

Human-Computer Interaction for specific domains (e.g., healthcare, work, education, transportation)

User-centered design for special user groups (e.g., children, elderly)

Emerging Technologies and Interfaces (e.g., mobile and ubiquitous computing, Virtual/Augmented/Mixed/Extended reality, Conversational user interfaces, tangible user interfaces and physical computing)

Human-robot interaction

Privacy, security and trust in HCI

Social and Collaborative Computing

Human-centered AI

While the areas of interest in HCI are constantly evolving as new technologies emerge, the primary message of most articles involves information about the interaction between humans and computers, and the implications for the design or evaluation of interactive systems, products, and services.

The journal mainly publishes original empirical work, whose contributions are assessed on criteria of significance, originality, validity, and presentation quality. As part of its dedication to fostering a diverse scholarly expression within the HCI community, IwC actively promotes various forms of academic contributions: full and short papers (which includes critical literature reviews), and critical essays (labelled ‘provocations’).

Note that if your paper primarily concerns the psychological impact of computer use, or uses a framing from another discipline than HCI (e.g., media and communication, information science, marketing, business management) without a central consideration for the interaction and the use of relevant literature in HCI, other journals are likely to be a better fit. If you are uncertain about the suitability of your paper for IwC, we kindly invite you to submit an abstract to the Editor in Chief for further evaluation and guidance.
