Dry reforming of methane over Ni-substituted CaZrNiOx catalyst prepared by the homogeneous deposition method

Ni-substituted CaZrNiOx was prepared by the homogeneous deposition method (HDP) and the effect of the preparation method on the catalytic activity was studied in dry reforming of methane. CaZrNiOx-HDP revealed enhancements in terms of the amount of basic sites for CO2-TPD, Ni dispersion for H2-chemisorption, and metal-support interaction for H2-TPR, as compared with the Ni-impregnated CaZrOx. CaZrNiOx-HDP exhibited better catalytic activity and stability than Ni-impregnated CaZrOx during 100 h of reaction. The enhanced catalytic activity was related to the improved physicochemical properties, which was influenced by the preparation method.
