Kinase inhibitors are effective cancer therapies. Unfortunately, drug resistance emerges in response to kinase inhibition leading to loss of drug efficacy. In this issue ofCell Chemical Biology,Peh et al. (2018)demonstrate that caspase activators effectively delay onset of resistance to kinase inhibitors and are excellent co-therapeutics for a number of tumor types.
