Worldwide, an estimated 93 million children are disabled, 80% of whom live in low-income countries.1 Cohort studies in high-income countries attribute more than 50% of cerebral palsy cases to premature birth or prenatal causes.2 Equivalent data have been difficult to obtain in low-resource settings, limiting the ability to lobby for better service provision for these children.
