Ru nanoparticles supported on MCM‐41‐type mesoporous silica (Ru/OMS‐IL) is used as a catalyst for the selective hydrogenation of nitroarenes. Ru/OMS‐IL exhibits high activity and chemoselectivity for the reduction of various nitroarenes under mild conditions. The Ru/OMS‐IL catalyst can be recycled over at least six runs without any observable loss in catalytic performance.
