We read the Article by Nathan Bahr and colleagues¹ on the use of Xpert MTB/RIF Ultra for diagnosis of tuberculous meningitis with interest. The findings of improved detection with this test compared with culture are encouraging given the low reported sensitivity of CSF diagnostics, even where advanced laboratory facilities are available.²
