Reagents leading to difluoramino (NF2) products

Difluoroamino compounds have attracted attention in many fields especially as high energy density materials (HEDMs). This paper review a series of reagents leading to difluoramino compounds, such as difluoroamine, difluorosulfamic acid, difluorosulfamate salts, difluoroaminotriphenylmethane, fluorine, trifluoramine oxide, hypofluorites, tetrafluorohydrazine, Selectfluor™ and nitrogen trifluoride. These reagents are not disorganized but have a certain connection. This review emphasizes the relationship between these reagents and predicts some reactions through this relationship. This paper divides these reagents into four types according to the functional groups of the target reactants, and illustrates the reaction mechanism and source of each reagent in detail.
